Darren PoyzerA Personal Message re: Financial Support

In this moment I am self-isolating and working from home and looking to support people in my work via online networks, video link-ups and recordings.

CV-19 Update - 30th March 2020

Darren PoyzerA little personal note re my songwriting exploits, for those who've kindly asked recently:

How am I?
In good health here, we self-isolated early, and I've lost some weight due to a positive diet change ... worried about family though, wishing I could do more to help people, and like everyone else I worry there's one heck of struggle to be got through.

Am I going to be streaming a house gig?
Technically I could do, and I want to do something uplifting and special but with family concerns and my own health risk from this virus, I don't honestly have the head space to do this right now. I might record a video at home and have some fun, in the hope it helps cheer a few people up in difficult times :-)

There's a wealth of people streaming gigs right now ... please do go and watch and listen, creatives need to continue as best they can, as we all do.

Am I writing new songs?
The last year has been a good writing year for new songs that need shaping and recording, and in that spirit I continue ... the era of virus scare isn't particualarly helping new writing though.

Am I writing 'the book'?
The neverending book project is ongoing and on the crest of an appearance of sorts! This is possibly going to come to some fruition soon with some excerpts here, if this isolation period continues as we think it will do. This in all honesty, is slowly becoming my creative focal point, and that's a real positive for me :-).

What am I doing for a living in isolation?
Self-employed, a little online tutoring at best, with no Government support. In the long term, this will force my hand and I will have to monetise all my music projects carefully, as many others will be doing with more necessity now.

With all projects I am associated with, we are making plans and maintaining a pro-active acitivity plan that in all honesty, is a challenge but one that is being well-recieved.

Stockport Music Project: We are presently planning a series on online learning sessions via video link and the delivery of recommended online resources, for young people. www.musicproject.uk

Live Gigs: I've no plans yet to live stream anything, or record new songs, but please keep an eye out as I will eliver something soon.

Bridgend Community Choir: We're in discussion to see how we can network with community choir members; more soon.

1-1 Online Music Tuition: I am fully kitted out and presently delivering 1-1 tuition via video link. Songwriting, young people, singing tuition available online; please e-mail or call. I am now also available on What's App, Facetime and Zoom.

There will be a lot of us busking with caps held out when we get an all clear, however those of us with health concerns may well not appear at the outset, until it is safe to do so. This will create opportunities for some who are healthy to take the gigs off the athmatics among us, but that's life I guess ...

Thank you as always for what you do in support of creative people, especially we musicians and writers,
Please take good care of each other, all good things always, Darren x
