In This Issue: Hello and Hey Hey People, It's nearly election time and I've had a rant on the website for those who dig that kinda thing. If you're easily offended and of the Catholic faith however, stay clear on this occasion. If you wanna deviate on that theme however, you might wanna give moral support to Honest T Blair, the New Loony candidate in Oxford East. And the more direct news from poyzerworld is a lot more positive than of recent. We've overcome the technical problems with the Global DVD ... yes, we have indeedy. Took the pc with all the gubbins on round to Andy Goddards gaffe and he had a go at writing the DVD from his pc, and hey presto, a beaut of a gig captured in all it's full glory for all to see and enjoy. More on this further down the page. And the gig guide looks very nice ... I'm in full barmy combats for The Aspull Music Festival near Wigan this Sunday May 1st (with Kevin Farrell on guitar and Patrick Blues on harmonica), and doing Manchester shows with Captain Beefheart's Magic Band on Wednesday May 25th, and Michelle Shocked on Friday July 15th. Amongst other things ... TSUNAMI
RELIEF ALL-DAY CONCERT Well we're back to our old tricks - no sooner had Brian Mitchell said 'let's organise a gig and raise some money' and here we go with a 10 hour show, covering two stages, at The Globe in Glossop. We kick off at 1pm, running through until 11pm. We are humble musicians doing what we do, what we can, Rae Leeson, Ron and Diana at The Globe have been super, and so far we've raised nearly £2,500 in sponsorship. I hope we get around £4,000 in total, of which the majority will be going to the DEC. We do however now have a direct contact in Phuket, and I'm hoping we can forward some funds direct to a little part of 'Ground Zero' and form a legacy of action. You can sponsor yours truly, and anyone else for that mind, find out who's playing, join the discussion on the forum etc via The Globe website at www.globemusic.org. Furthermore, I'd like to give a massive thanks to the Wigan Music Collective and their venue The Tavern who contributed £485 to the fund when I played their last week, alongside other quality artistes who made it happen, namely Nancy Cunliffe, Ray Tribe and French Eryk. THE GLOBAL DVD It's about to be released, promise ...! Paul and Mark at Key-Note Productions have been awesome ... we've had one of those annoying technical hitches and expertise beyond the call of duty is going into making this happen. As Paul says, "it's a diamond of a project", and I have to say, being so close and yet so far to showing everyone the full video footage of one of the finest dp gigs, I am on tiptoes in anticipation. Just watching the clips, it's an honour to see Andy Goddard, Fluff and Kirk McElhinney all stepping into what was a real 'for the moment' occasion and playing a stormer. So, please do reserve your advance copy via the Listen & Buy page, and to those of you who've already done so, please accept my apologies and hang in there a little longer. As soon as we have production complete, copies will be in the post, first class and away! FORTHCOMING GIGS Due to the delay with the DVD, and the exhaustion, the gig list is a little bare at the moment - which makes these shows more special I guess!!
