DARREN
POYZER is a highly acclaimed, entertaining and enlightening singer songwriter
from Manchester, England. A true independent, he is one of a new generation
who have scorned the traditional route of working with corporate record
labels and took to his own road. His 2001 album 'PASSION & CONFLICT'
proved very popular, especially on his 2002 Texas USA Tour, however doing
it live is what he does best and the brand live album for 2003 'GLOBAL'
shows both his punky edge and his powerful delivery of emotional ballads
and peace songs.

"Playing The Evening Star is always a pleasure as it's such a lively
place, full of people who not want to have a good time on the buzz created
by original songs and music"
The
Evening Star is a modest and very friendly venue, specialising also in
real ales, situated in the centre of Brighton. It boasts a most excellent
live music programme, and very recently played host to double chart hit
madcap perfromer John Otway.
"An
amazing songwriter fighting for the cause against the karaoke, the tribute
acts, the DJs, the bile of Saturday night 'fun' acts. He is the anti-pop,
the working class hero, an amazing talent. Nothing more can be said"
- Bang Yer 'Ead 'Ere Fanzine
"Inspirational
... a cross between Slade The Leveller & Frank Sidebottom" -
The Guardian
"One of the
Manchester scene's best loved music personalities" - Manchester Evening
News
"An amazing
folk singer from England" - Texas Current (live review, US Tour)
