STUDIO NEWS 2002

14 June 02 News Update: We're there - not one CD but 3!! First up PASSION & CONFLICT, 8 studio tracks, and then we have LIVE @ WOLVERHAMPTON UNIVERSITY (with violinist Jamie Parkes) and LIVE @ THE WITCHWOOD (solo). INFO & SALES

27 April 02 News Update: Just about managed to get 'PASSION & CONFLICT' - a 7 song cd - out in time for the Texas Tour ... have discussed with producer Rae Leeson the feasibility of adding 3 more tracks before throwing it out to the baying wolves of the English music press ... a limited edition of the US cd is now available at gigs whilst the full version should hopefully be out soon ... initial reports are that those who have the first cd are enjoying it, whilst those of us close to the material have one or two very minor things we'd like to put right on a couple of the tracks
HIT TRACK: SUNDAY MORNING FOOTBALLER - it's a winner, my friends, a gem recording ;-)

13 January 02 News Update: On my gravestone it will say "CD Out Soon"! Such is the time it is taking to sort the studio stuff out that I've made copies on cd of a particularly top gig that Jamie Parke (violin) and I played at Wolverhampton University recently. Just send me e-mail if you wanna copy :-)
Also, I guess when you are writing new stuff, as I am right now, it's difficult to package things up as finished and so it's work in progress ... still. Have got to say though that this will be worth the wait I am sure, especially as those who have guested so far have been well inspired and played like heroes

15th October News Update: When you are writing and gigging it's very difficult to record to your best capabilities ... that's my excuse anyway!! News is that whilst we have some magic down on tape, it's not quite there yet. I hope nevertheless to have something to throw out at gigs soon.

Requests for copies of the new stuff in particular have been extraordinary so I'm getting it sorted soon ... honest!

1st September News Update: Producer RAE LEESON and dp are currently listening to the work so far which has included contributions from KIRK McILLENNIE, ANDY GODDARD, ANN ENGLISH and SANJAY POYZER.

Still to lay down are violin and cello courtesy of JAMIE PARKES, Andy's piano, and some percussion and bass courtesy of ... well whoever, we have a couple of potential people in mind

Ann EnglishAndy GoddardJamie ParkesKirk McElhinney
from left to right: Ann English, Andy Goddard, Jamie Parkes and Kirk McIllennie, each fine songwriters in their own right

Kickin' tracks include BEAUTIFUL ADDICTION, BRAND NEW ROCK'N'ROLL, SUNDAY FOOTBALLER and after many many tries, at last we appear to have a soul stirring, albeit totally acoustic, version of OVER THE MOON

NOTHING TV should also turn out to be a winner, especially when Andy lays his piano track, whilst our demo version of SOMEONE FOR ME could maybe turn out better than the present demo ... basically this track has happened big time live on two occasions with STUART FRENCH guesting on improvised slide guitar so we may invite him into the studio

The current batch of recording is being done in Rae's Acoustica Studio in Glossop, although there are some earlier demos recorded with PAUL WALSTER @ SHIPWRECK STUDIOS that stand the test of time and may yet be used for the final product

Pending the usual cynical lack of interest from the established music industry f***wits, the album wil be released courtesy of the acoustica.tv label, and with that in mind please note the following details re purchasing your copy:
