THE BALLAD OF DARREN POYZER
Well, he came to Wild West via Manchester
Fought a duel with a black widow spider
Won hearts with a borrowed guitar
And travelled all over the Lone Star
He went out on Sixth Street until midnight
Drank every beer in every Bar all night
Almost got a gig at the Acoustic cafe
Until he realised he just might not get paid

Went from Temple to Tulsa and Lamesa too
San Antonio, Austin, Georgetown and Hou
ston where he got the MC to dance with him
and won over the black community when he started to sing

His CD is played in so many cities
Dazza on radio-Dazza on Access TV
He wore the hat that is blue and left his blues
in the songs that all the audiences knew

So if you hear humming and singing down Texas way
It will be the songs of Darren Poyzer being played
He opened their hearts when he started to sing
And he will return-some Texas Spring!
