Darren PoyzerAreas Of Work

My primary area of work is Special Needs Music Education, having been employed in a variety of roles since 2006. My work has included:

  • Delivering Therapeutic Music Activities
  • Delivering ASDAN and AQA Accredited Music Curriculum
  • Delivering ICT Functional Skills Curriculum
  • Delivering Mixed Ability Multi-Arts Projects
  • Supporting Teaching and Care Staff in Outdoor Activities and Wider Social Settings

I have also been commissioned as Project Manager for Music Leader / Brighter Sound, working alongside Youth Music (UK). My role included:

  • Delivering and Programming Music Leader Training
  • Assessing and Delivering Regional Funding Bids
  • Commissioning Research

I have also facilitated and delivered mainstream learning and activities, either with groups or on a 1-1 basis. Job roles with places I have been commissioned for mainstream provision include:

  • BTEC Music Tutor, age 16+: West Cheshire College, Ellesmere Port
  • Music Group Leader, 11 - 18 years old: Bickerton Youth Music Group, Cheshire
  • Key Stage 1 / Digital Keyboard Tutor, 4 - 16 years old: Sandbach Music, Cheshire

For Accessible Web Design, I was invited to London and awarded a Visionary Design Award (UK) by the Royal National Institute of Blind People in 2003.
